The idea of the system is to build a new economy with these parameters
With a planet that requires joint actions to reduce the environmental impact and consumers that are becoming more aware of this problem, companies face new challenges to try that their businesses can incorporate social welfare and solutions in environmental matters.
This is one of the ideas that were addressed in the first international meeting best companies for the world, in which model B was exposed, a system that is gaining strength at the business level to try to push changes.
The idea of the B system is to build a new economy in which the success and financial benefits of a company incorporate social and environmental well -being, with commitments and measurements.
José Ignacio Morejón, co -founder and Executive Director of the B Ecuador System, indicated that at global level there are 4,000 companies that have assumed commitment B, of which 700 are from 14 countries in Latin America. In Ecuador, 20 companies have aligned this system that is certified.
"More and more companies seek to measure their social and environmental impacts are not perfect companies, but they assume a commitment to continuous improvement," said Morejón.
The former minister of the environment, Yolanda Kakabadse, who participated in the meeting and is involved in movement B, indicated that the planet is in an emergency situation and there is the need to find joint responses, in which there is a participation of all.
"To make us b or walk along the way B means that in everything that is done personally, family, in the business field, we have to think about others. Not thinking about the well -being of my own benefit, but that others also deserve to have rational conditions for a decent life. We must ask ourselves what we do and what else we can do," said Kakabadse.

David Lamka, co -founder of the company Beyond and Couch Professional Leadership, considered that the world is going through a historical moment in which companies need not only to focus on digital transformation, but on the purpose.
He believes that there are traditional and family companies that know how to do business, but they have lost their purpose and why their companies exist. "Consumers want to relate differently to companies. Customers value more a conscious and sustainable company," Lamka said.
Álex Perry, Patagonia manager for Latin America, invited to the virtual meeting, said that no company can change the problem of climate change alone, but everyone can contribute.
The Executive presented cases of how that company that prepares garments is involved with the community and environmental organizations. He said they work with fishing communities to make garments from disuse networks.
Perry recommended that companies know the impact they produce and try to reduce it. "It is impossible to have a plan to improve sustainability but it is known what your current impact is," he said.
In addition, the businessman recommended investing in the people and in the communities surrounding the business.
Juan Pablo Grijalva, manager of El Mardaño, a company that operates under the commitments of Model B, explained the way they have involved small milk producers and their focus on creating sustainable products.
The businessman explained about the need for companies to leave a legacy and spread their consumers to have a B mentality, that is, to become more aware of social and environmental well -being.
One of the challenges Grijalva raised is that sustainable products can be available to everyone. "Not necessarily sustainable products must be the most expensive, but the effort reaches everyone," he said.
