Latam recovers the domestic routes he had before the pandemic

The pending challenge is to resume frequencies in each of those destinations.

After a little more than a year after the reopening of commercial flights, Latam Ecuador recovered the total of the routes that flew in the domestic market before the pandemic.

The airline reported that it is already flying to Coca, Cuenca, Guayaquil and Manta from Quito. In addition, Baltra and San Cristóbal (Galapagos Islands) fly from Quito-Guayaquil.

However, the airline still has the challenge of recovering the number of frequencies that it had enabled in each of those destinations.

The frequencies or number of flights have been resumed as the demand for passengers has been growing, which was strongly contracted by the pandemic.

Édgar Andrade, commercial manager of Latam Airlines Ecuador, said that "the reactivation process has been gradual and has depended a lot on the restrictions of destinations."

Internationally, the airline operates the destinations of Lima and Santiago, but under the corresponding income conditions in those cities. Companía does not yet take the Guayaquil-New York route that had before the pandemic.

As a projection, during this month of July, the airline presented a 32 % increase in its operation, compared to June 2021; And for August, it projects 42 % compared to the same month.

In addition, during this last year, the Latam group has managed to transport 100 million doses of vaccines in the region, including Ecuador, thanks to its solidarity plane program, which was made available to governments where it operates.
