Galapagos Airways Gaw, one of the airlines that prepare their entrance to Ecuador's market, received the guarantee of the Civil Aviation Council to operate other domestic routes.
Months ago, this airline was one of the companies benefited from the distribution of a part of the routes that Tame had in the archipelago and that were distributed between Aeroregional and Equinoaxir.
Galapagos Airways Gaw was granted the Quito and/or Guayaquil-Isabela-Guayaquil and/or Quito route, with two weekly frequencies.
But the company last May introduced an application to the Council to find more domestic routes among which were Baltra and San Cristóbal.
After an analysis, the Civil Aviation Council approved, on August 13, a permit for Quito-Loja-Quito routes, with ten frequencies; Quito-Guayaquil-Quito, with 21; and Quito-Cuenca-Quito, with seven. These are added to what he received from Quito and/or Guayaquil-Isabela and vice versa, with two weekly frequencies.
The aeronautical authority decided to keep the other requested routes pending and defer the resolution with respect to the routes to Baltra and San Cristóbal until the Provincial Court of Pichincha resolves an appeal filed by this company to obtain permits for these Galapagos destinations.
