It is the second edition of the event that is organized by Fedexpor with the support of the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries.
With 70 Ecuadorian exhibitors and 70 potential buyers from 21 countries, the second edition of the Virtual Fair "Ecuador Food Fair" began this Thursday, May 26.
The event, which is 100% digital and will run until this Friday, May 25, is organized by theEcuadorian Federation of Exporters (Fedexpor), with the support ofMinistry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries.
In its first edition, in 2020, it set a goal of $ 5 million in business estimates, but the result tripled expectations by generating more than$15′172.720of business intention projection, with 8,800 visits from 36 countries and 44,714 interactions between Ecuadorian exhibitors and international buyers.
Meanwhile, one of the novelties of this second edition is the strategic alliance with Sistema B Ecuador, with which Ecuador Food Fair adopts a sustainability and triple impact approach: people, environment and profitability, marking a purposeful differentiator, reported Fedexpor.
Meanwhile, the fair was inaugurated by the Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries,Julio Jose Prado, who welcomed the exhibitors and potential buyers.
Prado highlighted three specific elements to promote competitiveness in Ecuador, hand in hand with the public and private sectors.
“The competitiveness strategy through the most important industrial development that Ecuador has had in recent years, we will open Ecuador to the world. And the economic reactivation to strengthen national production ”, said the minister, who revealed that 120 business appointments were agreed within the framework of the fair.
While,Felipe Ribadeneira, president of Fedexpor, indicated that the event incorporates new technological tools to international trade and promotes trade promotion trends and green technologies that are developing in the world, especially in the European Union (EU).
He added that the fair is divided into eight pavilions, in which each exporter exhibits its product catalog and offers visitors different options to contact them.
The participating sectors are made from coffee; cocoa and processed; processed foods; non-traditional fruits; banana and plantain; fishing and aquaculture products; and the exporter services pavilion, which are available to importers connecting from the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Cuba, Belgium, Turkey, Sweden, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Guatemala, Mexico, the United States and Canada.
