Anko Van Der Werff will continue in Avianca as a member of the Board of Directors
Avianca Holdings, a conglomerate to which Avianca Ecuador belongs, appointed Adrián Neuhauser as the new president and CEO of the company.
The designation has immediate effect after the resignation presented by Anko Van Der Werff in the middle of a group restructuring process.
Van Der Werff presented his resignation to assume a new position as CEO of a company in Europe.
Avianca indicated that to guarantee a fluid transition, Van Der Werff was appointed as a member of the Avianca Board of Directors, a position that will be exercised from the date, and in turn will be an advisor to Avianca until mid -June.
Neuhauser, the new CEO of Avianca, has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector with an investment banking approach.
The airline arrived in 2019 as a financial vice president and more recently served as corporate executive vice president.
Before joining Avianca, Neuhauser was General Director of Credit Suisse covering airlines throughout the American continent.
"Adrian has a deep knowledge of Avianca, a trajectory proven in the supervision of the company's corporate restructuring and more than two decades of experience in the financial industry and working with transport companies, all of which makes it exceptionally qualified to direct Avianca at this crucial moment," said Roberto Kriete, president of the Board of Directors of Avianca.
Adrian Neuhauser said he has all the confidence that Avianca is well positioned to get out of the corporate restructuring process and remain a highly competitive and successful airline in the Americas.
