Investment alternatives were analyzed during the first meeting between the Chicago business community and the Ecuadorian private sector

The “Doing Business with Chicago” event brought together the Ecuadorian Business Committee, the Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters and other associations.

A meeting between the private sectors of Ecuador and the state of Illinois (United States) was held last Tuesday in the so-called “Doing Business with Chicago.”

It is the first time that this event has been held, in which the Ecuadorian Business Committee, the Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters and The World Business Chicago-WBC, the largest business promotion association in Illinois, United States, also participated.

There were a series of virtual conferences and panels, in whichhighlighted the importance of Chicago as a commercial area in the northeast of the United States. This is because it has positioned itself as the third largest GDP in the United States, with more than $600,000 million, equivalent to more than six times the total GDP of Ecuador.

Chicago business experts highlighted this area for having become the first city in the ranking of ease of doing business: Doing Business NorthAmerica, as well as for its diversity in consumer preferences, logistical facilities for foreign trade, its innovation projects and others.

At the event, more than 80 Ecuadorian producing and exporting companies were ableknow the trends and standards required to access the Chicago market, as well as the opportunities to generate business and investment alternativesthat strengthen productive chains in sectors such as food and beverages, manufacturing, logistics and business improvement services, among others.
