Ecuador and New Zealand signed a memorandum for agricultural bilateral cooperation on Tuesday.

This agreement signed virtually will allow implementing training and advice programs, commercial and investment opportunities, and technical cooperation for the benefit of farmers and ranchers of Ecuador.

The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Ecuador, Xavier Lazo, and the Minister of Primary Industries of New Zealand, Damien O'Connor, signed the agreement.

During the virtual meeting, the Undersecretary of Asia, Africa and Oceania, Germán Ortega, said that this agreement opens wide possibilities of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, of mutual benefit, in the fields of agricultural and agricultural production, technology and exchange of information.

"Ecuador believes that there are several sectors, especially in relation to agriculture, in which New Zealand has achieved great development and good practices of high national interest, as shown in the signing of this agreement," said the Ecuadorian diplomat.
