Women Entrepreneurs AWE Ecuador was a finalist in the world award of chambers of commerce

The Academy Initiative for Entrepreneurs, AWE Ecuador, is implemented by the Quito Chamber of Commerce together with the US Embassy and Consulate.

The Academy for Entrepreneurs Awe Ecuador(For its acronym in English), which implements the Chamber of Commerce of Quito (CCQ) together with the United States Embassy and Consulate in Ecuador, it was a finalist for the best unconventional project in the World Cup in Commerce.

The contest took place during the 12th World Congress of Chambers of Commerce in Dubai, the largest intellectual leadership conference for Commerce Chambers and its commercial members worldwide.

The project is replicated in 70 countries and competed in front of the Stryrian Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce of Postdam in Germany and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkey, according to the CCQ.

Carlos Loaiza, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Quito, said that this recognition is a motivation to move forward in the development of the initiative.

"For the CCQ, Awe Ecuador is one of our main initiatives, and we are clear that there are no large cameras or small cameras, but rather big dreams and small dreams, and this is undoubtedly a great dream for which we are completely committed to continue changing the lives of thousands of women entrepreneurs in the country," he said.

María Fernanda Garza, vice president of the International Chamber of Trade (ICC), said the program provides participants for the opportunity to improve the skills necessary to grow their businesses, “providing specialized mentors and world -renowned tools to help women better understand leadership, administration, finance, of teams of two or more people. A single person with their business can also participate. and social networks ”.

Awe Ecuador was born four years ago with the support of the American Embassy and the University of Thunderbid through the Dream Builder platform.

In Awe Ecuador they have formed anddeveloped more than 1,000 entrepreneurs. They have been able to increase income and employment levels.

Meanwhile, in the world competition of Chambers of Commerce there were four categories: Best Digital Project, Best Resilient Project, Best Climate Action Project and Best Unconventional Project.

78 initiatives were received that represented 33 countries for the 2021 edition. The total exceeds the number of registrations received for the 2019 edition.

An international jury, composed of the leadership of the World Federation of Chambers of the ICC, along with representatives of transnational, national and local cameras, was responsible for the qualification.
