It lowered its prospects for the region by three tenths compared to those calculated six months ago. The Latin American economy will grow by 2.3% in 2022,
The national clothing industry carried out the first export of car covers made in the country to the Peruvian market, reported this Wednesday theCorporation of Exporting Guilds of Ecuador (Cordex),which noted that the first container was shipped in mid-March of this year.
The export was possible thanks to the advantage of having free trade within theAndean Community of Nations (CAN)highlighted the union, which noted that this allowed the Ecuadorian textile industry to compete with suppliers from Asian countries and enter without tariffs, with the logistical advantage that facilitates thenearshoring(the provision of services from countries close to the contracting country, generally sharing borders) in the countries of the region.
“The Ecuadorian textile industry is committed to diversifying manufacturing exports, expanding the type of products that Ecuador puts in the world, generating more jobs and foreign exchange for the country,” the union said in a statement.
It was added that the export contract will allow the supply of this product to continue during 2022, with the expectation of continuing to expand participation in that market and reach other countries in the region.
