The airline had been without restarting its flights in the city for a year
With an Airbus A330-200 aircraft with capacity for 288 passengers, Iberia resumed its direct flights between Madrid and Guayaquil.
The airline of Spanish origin chose a plane with a Livery dedicated to Madrid for the return of its operations that suspended last year through the pandemic.
Flight IB 6461 left the Spanish capital yesterday and arrived at 04:10 on Monday to Guayaquil, according to the Tagsa flight report, the local airport concessionaire.
More than the passengers, the ship also brought load in its wineries.
The crew will rest in the city these hours. For this May 4, the plane will cover the Guayaquil-Madrid route. Guayaquil's flight will leave at noon and arrive in Madrid at 6 in the morning.
Days ago, the company indicated that in May there will be two weekly flights and, according to the demand, they foresee in June three weekly flights.

Iberia included Guayaquil within the destinations of South America in which she takes up her operations in this second quarter.
Iberia had stopped flying to Guayaquil since March 2020; At that time the municipality of the city ordered to block the track to prevent the landing of a plane without passengers from Madrid. There were only 11 crew members and the objective was to pick up Spanish Spaniards with the closure of commercial operations.
However, Gabriel Martínez -then Minister of Transportation and Public Works -saidThat the measure adopted by the Cabildo, to close the track, was not necessary since previously, via telephone, Mayor Cynthia Viteri had been notified that the plane would not land in Guayaquil. Both Iberia flight and one of KLM were already scheduled to reach the city in advance, the official then clarified.
In April of this year, Víctor Moneo, sales director of Iberia for Latin America, met with Mayor Viteri to address the return of the airline to the city.
