They seek to reinforce the connectivity scale of the region, the airline said
The Latam Airlines group, to which Latam Ecuador belongs, announced on Friday the purchase of 28 new airbus A320neo aircraft.
The acquisition of airplanes, which add up to the 42 previously agreed with Airbus, seeks to strengthen the sustainable growth plan, the company said.
The integration of aircraft from the A320neo family implies more efficient engines, aerodynamic improvements and latest technologies that provide 20 % more efficiency in fuel consumption, therefore, lower CO2 emissions.
"The purchase of these highly efficient aircraft is a sign of the commitment we have taken with the transformation towards a neutral carbon lasam in 2050. At the same time, these 70 airplanes reinforce the connectivity scale of the region," said Roberto Alvo, CEO of Grupo Latam Airlines.
The A320neo model has state -of -the -art engines, sharklets, And an innovative cabin, being the most comfortable unique corridor aircraft, low fuel consumption and respectful of the world's environment.
The airline presented this purchase plan for its respective approval in the United States.
Latam has been in a restructuring process since last year after accepting the United States Banking Law.
