This decision to maintain the PMS for next year generated the complaint of the producer sector, which sought that the banana box is located for 2022 at least at $ 7.19. While the export sector, whose proposal was to maintain the current price, is in accordance with the decision of the authority, taken after a meeting of the Banana Advisory Council.
Meanwhile, the willingness to review the payments is once the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock,Pedro Álava, he instructed the Undersecretariat for Strengthening of Musaceae “that is relentless” with the export companies that disrespect the payment of the PMS of the fruit box, as the MAG reported through a statement.
The statement warns that companies that disrespect the PMS payment will lose their export license.
