Fishing company acquires one of the planes of the state airline in liquidation Tame

Only one of the eight Tame aircraft was placed in the sale process.

Tame was unable to negotiate his entire fleet of planes that he had put up for sale. The company in liquidation was only able to sell oneKodiak (registered HC-CPE)and part of the aerial equipment such as an airplane engine.

The only Kodiak sold, of the two that Tame had to serve the communities of the Amazon, was awarded to theempresa nirsa, one of the main tuna industries in the country.

Some of the air goods and equipment were sold to two other companies during the process.

Roberto Córdova, Tame's liquidator,He pointed out that for the goods sold, it was possible to collect 1.17 million dollars.

The other Kodiak, the three Embraers and three ATRs that are in the capital could not be awarded in this process.

Tame's liquidator said he is awaiting what could be done with the planes that were not traded.

The times are short for a new sale process compared to the deadline set for the settlement, which ends in April.

A delay could be made to lower the price of the goods, but only the delay can take a month and thesettlement must end on April 23Cordova explained.

The options are reviewed with the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works and the Coordinating Company of Public Companies.

Tame had already been dragging a significant debt due to mismanagement and unprofitable routes. The Government decided in May 2020 to liquidate it in the midst of the pandemic, which complicated the airlines.

Petroecuador It is one of the important creditors of Tame, hence it does not rule out the possibility that this entity will keep the unsold aircraft as a cross-over of the debt it maintains. Public companies are owed $ 260 million.

The oil company that supplied fuel to Tame has already reviewed the planes, but has not issued a statement.

Pablo Galindo, Undersecretary of Transportation, indicated that they are analyzing what will be done with Tame's assets that have not been sold. "The process was just finished last week, we are working on the next steps and actions to be taken regarding assets that have not been sold," he said.

The valuation of the assets that went on sale was around $ 24.95 million.

What will be done with the proceeds from the auction?

The 1.17 million dollars that were raised from the sale of the Kodiak and spare parts already have a purpose: they will be used to pay pending salaries to workers and basic expenses.

Tame's liquidator maintained that the amount raised in the auction"Not enough for more."

This means that the people who bought tickets and who could not use them due to the closure of the airline will have tokeep waiting so we can get the refunds back.

Córdova asserted that in the order of priority, salaries must first be paid to employees, creditors of public companies and reimbursements for tickets.

But the assets that Tame has cannot cover all his debts.

With this, the State will have to find a budget and an item to be able to respond to the people who are waiting for their reimbursements.

In recent weeks people with pending claims have submitted documents to Tame to receive a certificate as creditors.

Hilda Cajas, spokesperson for the injured,He indicated that the company has indicated that these certificates are as a guarantee for reimbursements once Tame obtains the resources.

According to Cajas, only in two WhatsApp groups that they manage are there more than 1,000 people who bought tickets and who could not travel.
