The first flight of the airline Equair covered the Quito-Guayaquil route

Condor and Albatros are the two Boeing 737-700 NG aircraft that took to the Ecuadorian skies for the first time on January 10.

At 08:50 this Monday, January 10, 2022, the Boeing unit arrived at the Main Port from the capital. The tour marked the beginning of the airline's operations in the country. Hours before (06:20), the unit named Albatros also crossed the Ecuadorian skies and covered the same route.

Equair's Condor and Albatros are Boeing 737-700 NG aircraft, and they are two of the four aircraft that the company will operate with in its first year.

According to a company statement,The company has the goal of offsetting the carbon footprint. “Equair thus becomes a pioneer in national aviation by rewarding, from the first flight, the environmental impact of its passengers with investment in ecological projects in the Latin American region.”

Quito airport welcomed Equair with the traditional water arch.

The airline's two inaugural flights were attended by national authorities, such as the Minister of Transportation and Public Works, Marcelo Cabrera, and officials from the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries; municipal officials, representatives of the tourism union and businessmen of the country.

Equair announced, during its first journey, that in honor of the city of Guayaquil, tourist class travelers will be called CACAO, and those in the premier section will be called GRAN CACAO, recognizing the agricultural quality of the province of Guayas.
