Figures of the National Association of Exporters and Industrials of Cocoa of Ecuador (Anecacao) realize that Ecuador export, from January to last April, 101,605 tons compared to 91,821 of the same period last year.

Likewise, the increase was also reflected in currencies, because in the first four months of 2021 a total of $ 262.5 million, $ 39.2 million more than from January to April 20, were generated when $ 223.3 million were received.

The main destination of Ecuadorian cocoa is the United States, where it occupies the fourth place between the exportable offer of Ecuador, behind bananas, shrimp and flowers.
However, this growth is not isolated, because in 2020 they broke a record since 2018 of315,000 tons,when exporting345.000That year,which represented around$ 850 millionthat enter Ecuador by cocoa.
The growth of exports was highlighted by the Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries, Iván Ontaneda, who also recognized the work of Anecacao.
"It is necessary to recognize the great work done by Anecacao and all the members of this valuable productive sector. Cocoa is a dignified source of employment and an opportunity for overcoming for more than 200,000 families working in their value chain," Ontaneda said.
