From Ecuador, 76.5 tons of Magnum ice cream were exported for the first time to Brazil

The firm also began to export Sanduche ice cream to the Venezuelan market in 2021.

Ecuadorian products reach new international markets. This time it was Unilever's turn, a firm that announced the start of exports of Magnum ice cream, from Pingüino, one of the multinational's divisions, to the Brazilian market.

Mariano Smith, generalmanagerby Unilever, shared details about the shipment on social networks, such as, for example, that the shipment left from the Guayaquil Port Terminal (TPG).

“I want to share with you that starting in May of this year, exports of Magnum ice cream began, from Ecuador to Brazil, a fabulous product made in the country and a world brand,” said Smith, who recalled that the firm also exports Sandwiches ice cream. to Venezuela from 2021.

Meanwhile, the opening of the Brazilian market for Ecuadorian ice cream was celebrated by theChamber of Industries and Production (CIP),which detailed that Unilever has so far exported76.5 tonsof that product and that by the third quarter of 2022 the company expects to double the volume of shipments.

Magnum ice creams, which until 2002 were imported from Chile, began to be produced in Ecuador, together with Cornetto; since January 2003. On that occasion the Pingüino factory invested close to a million dollars in the purchase of new Italian machinery for the production of Magnum ice cream in its plant located on the road to Daule, in Guayaquil.

The multinational maintains a portfolio of around 90 references. Each year it develops between four to five innovations. One of the latest varieties they introduced is the Magnum with 100% Ecuadorian chocolate.
