With more than 80% occupancy, the third American frequency between Guayaquil and Miami started

It is the first time that this American airline makes three flights a day

The flights to the United States have had a better recovery in the midst of this pandemic in front of other international routes that leave Ecuador. The high demand even led to the fact that since Thursday, June 3, American Airlines incorporates a third daily flight between Guayaquil and Miami.

In the 30 years of operation of this airline in Ecuadorian territory it is the first time that it enters to offer a third frequency. And not only incorporated the new evening service in Guayaquil, but also added a third flight from Quito and Miami, which happens to have six flights every day leaving the country to that American city.

The first flight of that new frequency came out this afternoon from Guayaquil in a Boeing 737 Max with capacity for 172 travelers. The plane embarked 144 passengers, which is equivalent to an 84%occupation. From Miami previously arrived with 116 clients.

With the new flights, the airline increases its seat capacity by 49.6% in Guayaquil and 48.1% from the capital.

"Miami is one of the most important international connection centers in American in the United States, so Ecuadorians will have more options for traveling and connecting with more than 110 destinations," said Edwin Rincón, commercial manager of American for Ecuador and Colombia.

The new frequency leaves Miami at 09:29 and arrives in Guayaquil at 12:51. While from Guayaquil it leaves at 13:53 and arrives in Miami at 7:24 p.m.

Buenos Aires airport firefighters fired with an arc of water the inaugural flight of this third frequency. Before that, Jorge Valverde, General Manager of Airport, and Kimberly Campos, accountAmerican manager, participated in the cutting of the tape with the captain of the plane that opened the operations.

Among the passengers who left on that flight were those who went to Miami for vacations, work and studies. Even some were going to try to receive the doses against the Coronavirus in Miami during this stage of stay.

A passenger commented that he planned to be vaccinated in Miami these days while visiting relatives.

Tourism for vaccines is one of the reasons that trips to Florida has moved not only in Ecuador, but in Latin America.

At the Miami airport, for example, a temporary vaccination clinic operates these days. Without having a previous appointment, any person over 18 can receive a vaccine in this terminal. In May the Pfizer vaccine was offered and this month the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is offered.

Within Florida, vaccination centers do not ask for proof of residence in the state, so tourists can access inoculation.

The captain of the flight that opened the third frequency gave off the tape to start the operations.

The evening frequency

Other travelers who were the first to use the new American frequency considered that having a flight in the afternoon is an interesting option for those who do not want to get up early.

Mariuxi Villalba, a passenger who was traveling on vacation, said that the new schedule allows a different alternative to that destination for those who go for a walk or work. "It is a way to reactivate tourism, it is good that there is a frequency in the afternoon," he said.

While Idio Álvarez, who was traveling for work on the American flight, said he hopes that the new frequency can have good occupation to stay over time and prices can improve. "It is a good alternative to move, the passenger has other options," he said.

The American company obtained permission from the aeronautical authorities of Ecuador to have 21 weekly frequencies on the Miami-Quito-Miami routes and vice versa, and another 21 for the Miami-Guayaquil-Miami route and vice versa.
