ProCredit Bank bets on efficient energy with a photovoltaic generator in its main building

The system will generate 10% of the electrical energy consumed by the building, which represents more than 30,000 kWh of electric power every year.

Banco ProCreditHe installed a photovoltaic generator on the roof of his parent building, through which he obtains an efficient electrical energy source, with the aim of contributing to the reduction of CO₂ emissions to the atmosphere, and in line with his commitment to lead the mitigation of climate change in the country through the use of renewable energies, he reportedKatarina Zdraljevic, Chief of the Entity Environmental Management Unit.

It is a system that generates electricity from the energy of the sun.

During the day, from dawn to dusk, photovoltaic solar panels capture solar radiation and, through the photovoltaic effect, transform it into electricity; This, in turn, is injected into the electrical panels to supply the lighting equipment, printers, computers and all the electrical loads of the building.

For its installation, a pergola was built at the beginning of this year on the roof of the building, on which the generator rests, which has48 400W photovoltaic solar panels, which add up to a total of19.2 kW power.

“The system will generate the10%of the electrical energy consumed by the building, which represents more than30.000 kWhof electrical energy every year, and this will avoid the issuance of the atmosphere of the equivalent of 5825 kg of CO₂, in the same period, ”said Zdraljevic, who added that the project was implemented with the support of the company J3M, with which Banco Procredit already has trade agreements to finance this type of investment.

This initiative is part of the environmental management system that promotes the institution, in order to improve its energy efficiency, reduce its carbon emissions associated with energy, achieve economic savings, strengthen the culture of savings in the organization and reduce the environmental impact of its activities through the sustainable use of energy.

"Banco Procredit has formed an energy team, with workers in charge of economic, environmental, communication and maintenance factors, with the aim of developing a medium -term neutral carbon plan, in which we propose 40 energy actions that range from the generation of solar energy and the installation of electric vehicle loaders to the training in savings and energy efficiency to our collaborators," added Zdraljevic.
