American Airlines will have 6 daily flights between Quito, Guayaquil and Miami, since June 3

New service will be in the afternoon, seven days a week.

After receiving the approval of the Civil Aviation Directorate of Ecuador, American Airlines will incorporate from June a third frequency on its flights to Miami, from Quito and Guayaquil.

The American company obtained permission to have 21 weekly frequencies on the Miami-Quito-Miami routes and vice versa, and another 21 for the Miami-Guayaquil-Miami route and vice versa.

With this, the airline will go from 4 to 6 daily flights leaving from Quito and Guayaquil to Miami, on the east coast of the United States. This is the first time in its more than three decades in Ecuador that has this amount of services.k

Kimberly Campos, Account Manager of American, confirmed that this third frequency will begin since Thursday, June 3 in both cities and will be done with Boeing 737 Max teams.

The new service that will leave from Ecuadorian territory will have a evening schedule, so the airline goes on to offer the options to travel very early, in the afternoon or at night.

Weeks ago, Edwin Rincón, American sales manager for Ecuador and Colombia, told this newspaper that North America has had a more agile recovery because it is a tourism and trade destination.

The Executive explained that from October to December the airline flights had an occupation of around 65% and in these first months of 2021 the occupation reached 70%. And in the months of vacation of the coast it was estimated that they fluctuate between 80% and 85%.

In the permit that American Airlines asked that the Ecuadorian authorities requested that the new frequencies be incorporated into Miami, and that as a consequence of the modification of the operating permit the following routes and frequencies are eliminated: a) Dallas -quito-Dallas and vice versa, seven (7) weekly frequencies and b) Dallas-Guayaquil-Dallas and vice versa, seven (7) weekly frequencies.

According to data from the Civil Aviation Directorate, the routes to the United States are the ones that have had the best performance in the midst of this pandemic, which has affected the aviation sector.
