The companyDel Campo – La Holandesareceived certification as exporters of dairy products to send toPanama31 varieties of cheese, plus pasteurized sour cream, cheddar cheese sauce, cheese mix, natural yogurt and yogurt with fruit pulp.
The certification was delivered by thePhyto and Zoosanitary Regulation and Control Agency (Agrocalidad), entity attached toMinistry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG).
Del Campo – La Holandesa collects90,000 liters dailyof milk from 73 suppliers in the provinces of Pichincha, Cotopaxi and Imbabura, of which 21 are small producers.
“We will continue to support them in this whole adventure of being exporters,” said the Vice Minister of Agricultural Productive Development, Eddie Pesántez, stating that this certificate “is a goal achieved; “Capacity and constant work is the key to continue carrying our products and opening more markets around the world.”
While,Larry Rivera, Director of Food Safety at Agrocalidad, indicated that the certification “endorses procedures with a high quality standard so that the company can access the most demanding markets, worldwide, carrying national products.”
For dairy products, to date, Ecuador has open dairy markets.Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, United States, Peru, Dominican Republic, Venezuela and now Panama.
