Within the project, to date, DP World together with the community in the areas of influence of the port of Posorja have planted more than 150,000 red mangrove seedlings in 65 hectares of Puná Island, in Guayaquil; and since 2020, the planting of an additional 40 hectares in El Morro and Puná Island began, with the objective of planting more than 100 hectares of forested mangrove between Puná Island and the Manglecito islet.

“Caring for the oceans, through the creation of new mangrove ecosystems, is a fundamental part of DP World's sustainability pillars at a global level, which is being successfully replicated in Ecuador,” the firm reported.
