This Monday Israel took another step in the country's recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
This day the authorities announced in the evening the imminent end of the obligation to wear a mask in closed public places, one of the last measures in force in the framework of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The obligation to wear a mask is canceled as of Tuesday, June 15,” the Ministry of Health announced in a statement.
Israel eased health restrictions for its inhabitants at the beginning of June, although it still maintains drastic measures for visitors, including a quarantine.
Israel began a massive vaccination campaign at the end of December after an agreement with the Pfizer laboratory, which gave it millions of doses in exchange for data on the effects.
Prior to the last notice, the country already allowed not wearing a mask in open spaces.

More than 839,000 people have been infected with COVID-19 in Israel since the start of the pandemic, including three in the last 24 hours, and 6,428 have died, according to official figures.
