Ecuadorian shrimp farmers will be present at a renowned seafood fair that takes place in Spain

The sector will participate in the Seafood Expo Global, which takes place in Barcelona and is attended by potential clients from Spain and other European countries.

The National Chamber of Aquaculture (CNA) indicated that 23 Ecuadorian companies in the shrimp sector are working to be in the 28th edition of the Seafood Expo Global, which will take place between April 26 and 28 in Barcelona, ​​Spain.

The CNA pointed out that with a private investment of more than one million dollars, it seeks to have a 436 square meter pavilion in room five of the Fira Barcelona Exhibition Center.

The following companies will be present in this: Cofimar, Crimasa, Docapes, Edpacif, Empacreci, Expalsa, Exportquilsa, Expotuna, Frigolandia, GLunashrimp, Langosmar, Nirsa, Omarsa, Pcc, Procamaronex, Proexpo, Promarosa, Santa Priscila, Songa, Sopase, SSP , Total Seafood and Winrep, according to CNA.

Seafood Expo Global 2022 is the largest seafood fair; For this reason, it has the participation of more than 1,500 companies from 76 countries, which show the latest developments in the sector, from products to equipment.

Product buyers also visit it, such as international supermarket chains, restaurants, importers, wholesalers and distributors.

For the latter, in addition to showing the products to potential customers in Spain, it also serves as a showcase and contact with other buyers in Europe.

“The Ecuadorian shrimp sector is in constant promotional efforts to conquer new markets and consolidate itself in those where it is present. In 2021, the European market represented sales of USD $1,160,765,489 for the sector, with an equivalent of 419,784,730 pounds. This year, the sector will continue with a program of international fairs that will take it to visit Vigo, next October, and very possibly Singapore, in the month of September," the CNA said in a statement.
